Frequently asked questions

What areas do you cover?

The 360 team are based in various areas of London and the Home Counties. Although we can cover any area of the country and internationally upon request.

Which drones do you use?

The size and specification of the drone used depends on the job requirements. Often for a photography or filming brief we’ll use a Phantom 4 Pro as it boasts 4k video capabilities. Whereas for a survey we’d use a Mavic Pro 2 for its advanced mapping features.

However, miniature drones such as a Mavic MIni or a Tello are often used to get into tight areas such as air conditioning vents and industrial chimneys.

Are you qualified and insured?

Yes, absolutely! All of our drone operators have trained for many hours and achieved the CAA approved qualifications. We also have public liability insurance cover up to £1m.

How much does it cost?

Our quotes are bespoke and completely no-obligation. Each project is different and as such will need a specific approach to achieve the desired result. Please get in touch for a free consultation call to discuss your specifications, health & safety protocol and logistics.

I need drone coverage in a restricted area. What can we do?

Flying in restricted airspace generally isn’t a problem for professionally qualified and insured pilots. Certain areas of the UK need additional permissions from 3rd party authorities for drone usage. On occasion, additional fees are requested from these 3rd parties which will need to be covered by the client also.

These areas include but are not limited to: airports, royal palaces, National Trust sites, prisons, military bases and government sites.

How long can you fly for?

The average life of each drone battery is between 18 and 25 minutes. However, a lot can be achieved in this time!

Each of our operators will carry several batteries with them. During all-day jobs, we can charge batteries in 30 minutes when given access to an electrical point.

How high and far can you fly?

CAA permissions dictate that we can fly 400ft / 120m vertically and 500m horizontally, whilst maintaining constant line-of-sight between operator and drone. However, in certain areas of London there is a vertical limit of 300ft / 90m due to helicopter lanes.

What if there’s bad weather?

Unfortunately we can’t operate in high winds or in the rain as it poses too much of a safety risk. However, we guarantee to transfer your deposit to a newly rescheduled date at no extra cost.

We will monitor the weather forecast 5 days in advance and if it looks particular bad in the days preceding the shoot, we’ll get in touch to discuss the potential of rescheduling.

Do you plan each flight ahead of shooting?

Each flight has a meticulous pre-production stage. We use Soarizon’s powerful software to research weather forecasts and airspace restrictions so we’re able to deliver a bespoke risk assessment to each client.

Can you send documents in advance?

Not a problem at all. Risk assessment, method statement, proof of insurance and even a copy of the operator’s licence will be sent in advance at the client’s request.

Can I hire the drone equipment from you?

Our equipment insurance only covers trained and professionally qualified pilots, so we are unable to hire out our kit.
